Chopped cooked octopus
Octopus a feira -or Galician octopus- is a traditional Galician dish and basic in its gastronomy, although its consumption has become widespread throughout Spain.
It is a dish made with cooked octopus that is mainly present in the Galician fairs, from where its name comes.
It is one of the most universal elaborations of Galician gastronomy, but also of Spanish cuisine. The original and traditional dish, the authentic octopus a feira, consists only of cooked octopus, coarse salt, paprika and olive oil. Then there is another more modern variant, more commonly known as "Galician octopus", which introduces the cooked potato as a side dish.
